What a click costs in Miami, by industry

Average cost per click (CPC) is what advertisers paid on average for a click on that search. The top-of-page range is Google’s estimate of what it takes to show above the regular results.

Source: Google Ads keyword data for the city of Miami, retrieved October 5, 2026 . Searches are monthly averages for that exact phrase. Your own costs will differ with your ads, your landing page, the areas you target and your competitors.

Two things stand out. Emergency searches cost more than the general version of the same service (“emergency plumber” vs “plumber”), because one of those clicks is worth more. And the highest prices sit where a single customer is worth thousands of dollars, which is why legal searches lead the table.

How much should a small business budget per month?

Google has no minimum budget. You set an average daily budget, and Google can spend up to twice that amount on a busy day, but over a month it won’t charge more than 30.4 times your daily budget (Google Ads Help).

The real question is how many clicks your budget buys. With $1,500 a month:

BusinessAverage CPCClicks for $1,500
Moving company$27.50about 55
Plumber$25.73about 58
House cleaning$13.73about 109
Med spa$6.39about 235

Below roughly 50 clicks a month, there isn’t enough data to tell which keywords and ads bring customers, so you end up guessing. That is why we recommend about $1,500 a month in ad spend as a starting point for most local service businesses in Miami, and why lower-cost categories can start with less.

Is it worth it? Do the math with your own numbers

Yes, when what you can afford to pay for a lead is higher than what Google charges to get one. Work it out from what a customer is worth to you:

  • Value of a customer: what a typical job or client brings in, after your costs.
  • Close rate: out of 10 people who call or fill in your form, how many become customers.
  • What you can afford per lead = value of a customer × close rate.

For example, if a plumbing job leaves you $400 and you close 3 out of 10 enquiries, you can afford up to $120 per enquiry and still break even. At about $26 a click, that works if roughly 1 in 5 clicks turns into a call or a form. Those are illustrative numbers, not a promise: plug in your own.

What you pay on top: management

Ad spend goes straight to Google. If you hire someone to run the account, that is a separate fee. At PeakFlint, Google Ads management starts at $1,000 a month plus a one-time $300 setup, for up to $5,000 in monthly ad spend, with a three-month initial term and then month to month. You pay Google directly and the account stays in your name. See how we run Google Ads.

Why two businesses pay very different prices for the same click

These Miami averages are just that. Two plumbers bidding on the same search can pay very different amounts and get very different results. When an account overpays, the cause is usually one of these:

  • Ads and pages that don’t match the search, which Google prices higher for the same position.
  • Budget leaking outside the service area or to people who were only “interested in” Miami.
  • Searches that never buy (jobs, courses, DIY) quietly eating the budget.
  • Ads running when nobody answers the phone.
  • No conversion tracking, so Google optimises for clicks instead of customers.

None of these is a secret. The work is catching them every week as searches, competitors and prices change, and that’s what you pay a manager for.

Run it yourself or hire someone?

With a small budget and a few hours a week to watch it, running Google Ads yourself can make sense. As spend grows, the waste grows with it: at $1,500 a month, if one click in five goes to the wrong search or area, that’s $300 a month gone, every month. Compare that with what a manager costs and what your time is worth. If you’d like a second opinion first, ask for a free account review.

Common questions

Is there a minimum budget for Google Ads?

No. Google lets you set any daily budget. In Miami, very small budgets buy too few clicks to learn anything in competitive categories, which is why we suggest starting around $1,500 a month in ad spend for most local services.

Do I pay if nobody clicks my ad?

With standard search campaigns that bid per click, you pay when someone clicks, not when the ad is shown.

Why do lawyers pay so much more per click?

Because one client can be worth tens of thousands of dollars, many firms compete for the same searches and push the price up. In this data, “car accident lawyer miami” averages $245 a click.

Can you check whether my current account is overpaying?

Yes. We review Google Ads accounts for free and send a written read on what we would fix first. Ask for a review.
