Google Ads for plumbers, AC and roofers in Miami: costs and setup (2026)

Bar chart: Google Ads average cost per click for home services in Miami. Emergency plumber $64.12, HVAC repair $61.35, pest control $34.75, moving company $27.50, plumber $25.73, AC repair $24.92, roofing $21.92, locksmith $19.69, house cleaning $13.73, electrician $12.16.

Short answer: in Miami, a Google Ads click for home services costs about $12 to $35 on the general searches (electrician $12.16, plumber $25.73, AC repair $24.92, pest control $34.75) and roughly $60 or more on urgent ones (emergency plumber $64.12, HVAC repair $61.35). Most plumbers, AC companies and roofers do best with two things running together: Search ads on the services they want most, and Google Local Services Ads, where you pay per lead instead of per click. A realistic start is about $1,500 a month in ad spend.

Home services are where Google Ads works best: people search when something is broken and call the first business that looks reliable. They are also where clicks are most expensive and where a badly set up account wastes money fastest. This guide uses Google Ads Keyword Planner data for Miami to show what each trade pays, which type of campaign to use and how to set it up.

Urgent searches cost two to three times more than the general version of the same service, because the person is ready to hire right now. That makes them worth bidding on, but only if someone answers the phone. A missed emergency call is the most expensive click you can buy. More industries in what Google Ads costs in Miami.

Search ads or Local Services Ads?

  • Search ads charge per click. You choose the keywords, write the ads, send people to your own page and set your bids. Best for controlling which jobs you get (for example, AC installation instead of small repairs).
  • Local Services Ads charge per lead, not per click, and show your business with the Google Verified badge after Google’s screening and license checks. They can appear at the top of Google Search results and on Google Maps when people in your area search for your services. Your reviews come from your Google Business Profile, and Google ranks these ads using your bid, how likely you are to get the lead (missed calls hurt) and the quality of your profile, including your rating and number of reviews.

One change to know about: Google is moving Local Services Ads into Google Ads as Performance Max campaigns with pay-per-lead goals. The first phase started in August 2026 for some US home services, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, pest control and moving (Google Ads Help). You still pay per lead and still need a verified Business Profile; the account is just managed in Google Ads. Details on our Local Services Ads page.

How to set it up so the budget isn’t wasted

  1. Track calls, not just clicks. Count calls from the ads and from the website, and how many turn into booked jobs. Without this, you can’t tell a good keyword from a bad one.
  2. Separate urgent from scheduled work. Emergency searches get their own campaign, budget and hours, so they only run when someone can answer.
  3. Set your real service area. Target the ZIP codes and cities you actually drive to, not all of South Florida.
  4. Exclude the wrong searches from day one: job seekers, do-it-yourselfers and brands or parts you don’t service.
  5. One page per service. Someone searching “AC repair” should land on an AC repair page with your number, your areas and reviews, not on your home page.
  6. Run Spanish ads too. In Miami many customers search in Spanish; a separate Spanish campaign with Spanish ads and pages means they land on something written for them.
  7. Keep your Google Business Profile complete and ask every customer for a review. It feeds the map, Local Services Ads and AI answers at the same time.

How much to budget

Below roughly 50 clicks a month there isn’t enough data to know what works. At the costs above, that means about $1,500 a month in ad spend for most trades, paid directly to Google: about 58 clicks for a plumber, 60 for AC repair, 68 for a roofer and 76 for a locksmith. Emergency-only campaigns need more. Start with the services that earn the most per job, measure booked jobs for a month, then move budget toward what works.

Common questions

How much do Google Ads cost for a plumber in Miami?

About $25.73 per click on “plumber miami” and $64.12 on “emergency plumber miami” (Google Ads Keyword Planner data, October 2026). A realistic start is around $1,500 a month in ad spend.

Are Local Services Ads better than regular Google Ads for home services?

They work differently. Local Services Ads charge per lead and show the Google Verified badge; Search ads charge per click and give you more control over keywords and pages. Many home service businesses run both.

Do I need a website to run Google Ads?

For Search ads, yes: a page per service converts much better than a home page. Local Services Ads use your Google Business Profile instead, so they can start before a full website.

Should I advertise in Spanish in Miami?

Usually yes. Run a separate Spanish campaign with Spanish ads and pages so the people searching in Spanish land on something they can read.
